A SUSTAINABLE (FOOD) FUTURE

Protecting Food Value

Food loss is one of the greatest challenges in today’s global supply chains. At VacQPack, sustainability starts with protecting what has already been produced—preserving quality, safeguarding food safety, and extending shelf life in a natural, responsible way.

"When quality is protected, waste is prevented."

We do what we can within our sphere of influence to contribute to a sustainable food future. In our daily operations, reducing our carbon footprint is a shared responsibility. At our workplace, ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ is not a slogan, but a practical mindset embedded in how we work, source, and operate.

Beyond our day-to-day actions, we continuously improve the sustainability of our consumables. For our big bags, we are working towards solutions made from recycled PET bottles, ensuring the life cycle starts with recycled materials. At the same time, we are developing liners that can be recycled back into PE at the end of their life, giving materials a valuable second use.

Preventing Food Loss

From chain to change

We believe that our role in the food supply chain inherently contributes to preventing food loss and waste. By protecting commodities against moisture, oxidation, and infestation, our solutions help maintain quality from origin to destination. While our individual impact may seem modest, we are driven by the belief that every improvement creates a positive ripple effect across the chain.

Farm to Fork

The Farm to Fork strategy aims at accelerating the transition to a sustainable food system that ensures food security, nutrition, and public health, while making sure everyone has access to sufficient, safe, nutritious, and sustainable food. VacQPack supports this vision by safeguarding food quality at every stage, helping to build a resilient, future-proof supply chain.

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

Positive impact

Since 2010, VacQPack has supported the Kenya Equal Opportunities Foundation. The foundation supports vulnerable children in Kenya by providing access to education, daily nutritious meals, and safe learning environments.

Working closely with local schools and communities in Nairobi and Mombasa, the foundation helps fund classrooms, kitchens, clean water facilities, and educational materials, while also supporting teachers and long-term development projects.

By focusing on basic needs such as food and schooling, the foundation enables children to grow up healthier, stay in school, and build a more independent future for themselves and their communities.
